Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care on a busy MS/Telemetry unit, monitoring patients with cardiac conditions and complex needs
• Interpret and respond to telemetry and dysrhythmias, initiating appropriate interventions and escalating when necessary
• Administer IV therapies, blood products, and manage central/PICC lines with precision and safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, Rapid Response) to coordinate excellent patient care
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to support continuity of care and patient safety
• Participate in rapid response/code teams and emergency interventions when called upon
• Support unit needs by floating within like units as required, maintaining scope-of-practice standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (must be valid for North Carolina or applicable for assignment)
• Minimum 2 years MS/Telemetry nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS required
• Proven telemetry experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with Epic (charting system) is required
• Willingness to work every-other-weekend and float between like units as needed
• Able to complete facility orientation (approximately 360 hours) and meet facility policies (no pending license accepted)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and remote/on-unit cardiac monitoring
• Dysrhythmia recognition and emergency response
• IV therapy, peripheral/central line and PICC management, blood product administration
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Phlebotomy, wound care including Wound Vac, chest tube and drain management
• Rapid Response/Code team participation and critical thinking under pressure
• Proficient documentation in Epic and strong interdisciplinary communication
