Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform focused neurological assessments and document NIHSS scores accurately and timely
• Provide expert neuro stepdown care, monitoring patients for changes and intervening appropriately
• Document all care in EPIC, maintaining clear, thorough, and timely charts
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient care plans
• Deliver patient and family education about neuro diagnoses, procedures, and discharge needs
• Respond to emergencies and activate ACLS protocols when required
• Support safe transitions of care, including handoffs and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys license verification required) with documentation in profile
• Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro specialty or strong med/surg nurse with neuro experience
• NIHSS on CV packet is required — must be included to be considered
• EPIC experience required — please note in your profile
• ACLS certification required; current certification card must be provided
• Complete candidate profile: resume/work history with no gaps greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, certification card, and badge-appropriate photo

• Not specified — active Registered Nurse license required

• Neuro nursing and neuro stepdown patient management
• Performing and interpreting NIHSS assessments
• Proficient EPIC documentation and electronic charting workflows
• ACLS protocols and emergency response
• Med/Surg nursing fundamentals to support diverse patient needs
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary communication
