Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality endoscopy nursing care to adult patients before, during, and after procedures
• Perform pre-op assessments and prepare patients for endoscopic procedures
• Monitor patients intra- and post-procedure, recognizing and responding to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in accordance with hospital standards
• Participate in cross-training to support Pre-op staffing needs when required
• Adhere to infection control, sterile technique, and safety protocols for endoscopy procedures

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; ability to practice in California is required
• Prior endoscopy nursing experience is required
• Experience working in Pre-op settings and willingness to cross-train
• Comfort with occasional call coverage, though minimal per the role
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient communication skills
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications as applicable are a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of endoscopy procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique
• Skilled in pre-op assessment and post-procedure recovery monitoring
• Proficient in patient education, comfort measures, and managing anxiety
• Good documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health records
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced procedural environment
• Team-oriented communication and collaboration skills
