Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform routine and protocol-based CT examinations accurately and efficiently
- Scan patients per radiologist protocols and exercise independent judgment when acquiring images
- Operate Canon and Toshiba CT units and manage post-processing on Vitrea workstations when required
- Prepare patients for procedures, including venipuncture and contrast administration as appropriate
- Assist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages when needed
- Maintain clear, timely communication with radiologists, technologists, and clinical teams
- Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and departmental policies at all times
- Document exams and patient information accurately in the Meditech EMR
Qualifications
- Current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license required (travelers must obtain by assignment start)
- ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an acute hospital setting performing CT exams
- Ability to perform routine CT scans independently and follow radiologist-directed protocols
- Experience with Meditech EMR, Canon/Toshiba CT scanners, and Vitrea workstation preferred
- Experience with venipuncture, MIP/MPR/3D post-processing and participation in vascular, cardiac, trauma, or stroke imaging is a plus
Education
- Not specified (required certifications: State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license; ARRT - CT; BLS)
Knowledge & Skills
- Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and protocol-based scanning
- Radiography fundamentals and patient positioning
- Contrast administration and basic venipuncture skills
- Post-processing skills: MIP, MPR and 3D reconstruction
- Familiarity with Canon and Toshiba CT platforms and Vitrea workstation
- Electronic medical record documentation (Meditech preferred)
- Ability to function independently, prioritize workload, and collaborate with radiologists
- Strong patient communication and safety-focused practices
