Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality direct patient care on the telemetry unit using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and rapidly communicate critical changes to the care team and physicians
• Assess patients' clinical status and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate patient responses to treatment
• Lead and guide patient and family teaching to support recovery and self-care
• Coordinate and direct activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
• Complete required competency exams, specialty checks, and documentation in a timely manner
• Participate in infection prevention and workplace health requirements, including immunizations and screening

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Telemetry experience and comfort with cardiac monitoring
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Ability to complete required exams and checklists (core competencies, specialty exam, rhythm screening)
• Ability to pass standard pre-employment health screenings and background checks

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry nursing and cardiac monitoring proficiency
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Skilled in care planning and nursing process documentation
• Rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Ability to manage or assist with ventilator care when needed
• Clear communication with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Patient and family teaching techniques and discharge planning
