Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night 12-hour shifts (12-hr nights). Typical pattern: 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM depending on facility scheduling; schedules offered as 36- or 48-hour weekly patterns. Block scheduling is not available. Will float to PCU as needed. (Exact start/end times vary by unit and will be confirmed at offer.)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to complex patients in a 20-bed ICU unit, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio
- Manage ventilators and provide advanced ventilator care and weaning strategies
- Monitor and respond to intracranial pressure (ICP) and advanced hemodynamic parameters
- Perform timely NIHSS assessments and participate in stroke-related care pathways
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse preferred)
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to facility policies including required licensure upload and submission requirements
- Support unit needs by floating to the PCU when requested
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts RN license in-hand (facility will not pend license)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care experience (required)
- Active ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Willingness to float to PCU as needed (required)
- Own vehicle and permanent address uploaded to profile (firm requirements)
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years (required)
- Meditech Expanse experience (strongly preferred)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced critical care nursing skills and clinical judgment
- Ventilator management and respiratory support strategies
- Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
- Familiarity with NIHSS and acute stroke care protocols
- Experience with Meditech Expanse or similar EHR systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ICU and float to PCU when needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
