Shift Type: Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights). Typical schedule averages 36 hours/week with every other weekend required; most clinicians work roughly three 12-hour nights per week. Clock-in guidance: 18:38, clock-out guidance: 07:15.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical ventilation safely and effectively using Drager and Phillips V60 ventilators
- Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide clinical decision-making
- Administer bronchodilator therapy and airway clearance interventions to improve patients' breathing
- Provide tracheostomy care and assist with intubations when needed
- Initiate and monitor high flow oxygen therapy (Vapotherm) and other respiratory support
- Assess patients continuously and coordinate safe patient transport
- Respond quickly and professionally as a code blue team member
- Document all respiratory care accurately in Meditech and communicate with the multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
- RRT or CRT credential required
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (ICU experience preferred)
- Active state respiratory therapy license or ability to obtain one for Tennessee
- Comfortable working night shifts and in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation and the unit’s ventilator fleet
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and troubleshooting (Drager, Phillips V60)
- ABG collection and interpretation
- Bronchodilator therapy and airway clearance techniques
- Tracheostomy care and intubation assistance
- High flow oxygen systems (Vapotherm) and Metaneb therapy
- Code blue response and critical event teamwork
- Patient assessment, transport coordination, and clear clinical documentation in Meditech
