Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using age-specific criteria and make clinical judgments grounded in evidence
• Plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care throughout your shift
• Serve as a patient advocate and communicate care plans effectively with the care team and families
• Teach, direct and mentor non-RN staff (LPNs, PCTs, Unit Secretaries) to support excellent unit functioning
• Assist as first assist and scrub for OB procedures when required (highly preferred skill)
• Adapt and float to other units within your scope of practice as patient needs evolve
• Maintain accurate documentation in MediTech EMR and ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 2+ years of OB nursing experience (required)
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and S.T.A.B.L.E. certifications (required)
• Active Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification (required)
• Current OB/GYN skills checklist (within 1 year) — required as part of profile
• Able to function as first assist and scrub OB (highly preferred)
• Ability to work varied 12-hour shifts and float within scope of practice

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure (required for practice)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making in obstetrics
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation tailored to OB/GYN patients
• Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) interpretation and application
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and stabilization (S.T.A.B.L.E.) knowledge
• Proficiency or experience with MediTech EMR
• Comfort functioning as 1st assist and scrub in OB procedures
• Effective teaching, delegation and team communication skills
• Flexibility, adaptability and ability to float to other units as needed
