Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively to identify needs and changes in condition
• Plan individualized, evidence-based care in collaboration with the care team
• Implement nursing interventions and coordinate patient care across shifts
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans to ensure progress
• Provide clinical leadership to the patient care team for your assigned shift
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and maintain high standards of safety

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required; Nursys must show Active Illinois/IL license
• Minimum 3+ years of Med Surg experience (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of assignment start
• Completed work history and a current skills checklist pertinent to Med Surg
• Two supervisory reference forms with dates employed (required)
• Applicants within a 50-mile radius of the facility are not eligible
• Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years are not eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Strong clinical leadership and team coordination
• Med Surg specialty skills and best practices
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and handle a busy patient census
