Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on occupational therapy services under the direction of an OT to improve resident independence
- Implement and carry out individualized treatment plans and therapy goals
- Document resident progress, treatment responses, and discharge planning clearly and on time
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care staff to create cohesive, person-centered care
- Educate residents and families on strategies for daily living, safety, and home programs
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and adhere to facility policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Eligible for or holding state licensure/registration appropriate for practice in New Hampshire
- Comfortable working in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
- Open to clinicians at all experience levels, including new graduates
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or completion of an accredited OTA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL training, transfers, and functional task-oriented interventions
- Able to follow and implement OT treatment plans and therapeutic activities
- Proficient documentation and charting skills
- Good time management, prioritization, and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of SNF workflows, safety protocols, and discharge planning basics
