Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to promote comfort and dignity
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain clear and timely documentation of resident care and observations
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
- Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, and families to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Valid state CNA license or eligible for licensure in Maine
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Reliable, local to Orono area (LOCAL ONLY) and able to work the specified day shift
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observation notes
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation and time management skills
- Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and work under the direction of licensed nursing staff
