Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and create individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications safely and document treatments accurately
• Start IVs, insert catheters, change dressings, and manage wound care with confidence
• Monitor vital signs and promptly report adverse reactions or clinical changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Provide leadership on the unit by working cooperatively with ancillary staff
• Float to other Med-Surg units as needed to support patient care and staffing

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice (RN)
• Minimum 6 months Med-Surg experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Hands-on experience with IV therapy, medication administration, wound care, and catheter insertion
• Comfort with 12-hour night shifts and weekend coverage
• Ability to work effectively at a 1:5 patient ratio and to float between units
