Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess residents continuously and communicate changes in mental and physical well-being to leadership
- Accurately receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders and document in the electronic MAR/TAR system
- Administer medications, oxygen, and tube feedings (gastrostomy/jejunostomy) safely and per policy
- Perform wound care including management of wound vacs and infection control oversight on the unit
- Supervise, assign, and mentor LNAs while ensuring care is consistent with scope and abilities
- Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers with complete and timely documentation
- Prepare 24-hour unit reports, track residents on antibiotics/precautions, and maintain clear communication with Nurse Manager/DON
- Support interdisciplinary care by coordinating therapy appointments and joining physician rounds
- Assist with orientation and ongoing education for nursing staff and participate in mandatory meetings
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire nursing license in-hand at time of submission (Compact allowed)
- BLS (AHA) current and active
- IV certification preferred; willing to obtain during onboarding if not already certified
- Minimum 3 years recent nursing experience, with clinical practice within the last 6 months
- Willingness to float to units where experienced
- COVID-19 vaccination required; declinations or exemptions are not accepted
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years and a current resume and skills checklist
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in electronic documentation (MAR/TAR) and transcribing physician orders
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, and oxygen therapy
- Competence in gastrostomy/jejunostomy feedings and enteral nutrition management
- Skilled in wound care including use of wound vacs and infection control practices
- Ability to perform unit management/charge nurse duties and supervise direct-care staff
- Comfortable managing admissions/discharges/transfers and completing regulatory documentation
