Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Acute Rehab unit, supporting patients through recovery and discharge
• Assist and train patients with ADLs and mobility, using safe transfer techniques and equipment
• Manage IV therapy and enteral support, including IV pumps and tube feedings as needed
• Perform PICC and midline care, NG tube management, and Foley care with clinical competence
• Collaborate with PT, OT, ST and the interdisciplinary team to ensure patients meet therapy goals (patients participate in 3 hours of therapy daily)
• Document care accurately and timely in Meditech to support clinical continuity and regulatory compliance
• Round with patients each shift to support discharge planning and a positive patient experience
• Promote unit safety by using appropriate transfer equipment and following CMS-regulated guidelines

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-appropriate) — current and in good standing
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience; med/surg background required, rehabilitation experience preferred
• BLS certification required; NIHHS (preferred, not required)
• Comfort with telemetry patients as the unit is now wired for cardiac telemetry
• Experience with safe patient transfers and transfer training
• Proven ability to work independently on a 5-on/5-off schedule and to float when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg nursing fundamentals and rehabilitation care practices
• Proficient documentation in Meditech
• IV management, including pumps and PICC/midline care
• NG tube and Foley management
• Safe patient transfer techniques and familiarity with Hoyer lifts/Sara steady equipment
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines (PT/OT/ST) and support therapy-driven care plans
• Basic telemetry familiarity and ability to monitor cardiac patients
