Shift Type: Rotating shifts (nights and days). Specific start/end times not provided in the posting. Orientation includes 1-2 day shifts followed by 1-2 night shifts with a staff RN. Schedule requires 80 hours every 2 weeks (no exceptions); must be open to work any shifts.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, age-appropriate critical care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in the ICU/CCU
- Coordinate patient care and manage complex cases including ventilated and cardiac patients
- Perform thorough patient assessment and continuous monitoring; intervene promptly as acuity dictates
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Support PACU recovery after hours and assist in the Emergency Room when needed
- Complete required orientation and competency binder items and participate in unit-specific competency checks
- Float to OB, Medical-Surgical, PACU and ER as assigned and provide competent coverage based on training
- Ensure safe nurse-to-patient ratios and call in additional staff when acuity requires
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential — ICU/CCU experience preferred
- Demonstrated critical care nursing experience caring for ventilated, cardiac and respiratory patients
- Comfort working with pediatric through geriatric populations
- Willingness and ability to work any shift and meet the 80 hours every 2 weeks requirement
- Experience or willingness to float to PACU, OB, MS and ER as needed
- Ability to complete hospital HR orientation and unit-specific orientation/competency binder
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and respiratory care knowledge
- Cardiac monitoring and critical care assessment skills
- Strong patient monitoring and clinical decision-making
- Experience managing acuity and prioritizing care in a 1:2 ratio ICU setting
- Ability to function in small-unit environments (4 bed/4 rooms) and escalate when additional help is needed
- Effective communication and teamwork across nursing and interdisciplinary staff
