Shift Type: Night 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (nights only), approximately 3 nights per week; weekend coverage rotates (every other / every third)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide rapid, high-quality emergency nursing care to adolescents, adults, pediatrics and geriatrics in an oncology pod
- Perform triage and prioritize care for high-acuity patients using sound clinical judgment
- Start and maintain IVs, manage IV therapy and administer IV vasopressors safely
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and lead emergency responses when needed
- Manage respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and care of ventilated patients
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide clinical interventions
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and ensure accurate charting for continuity of care
- Collaborate with respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services and unit secretaries to coordinate patient care
- Float between units as required, demonstrating flexibility and a team-first attitude
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required (HARD STOP)
- Current EPIC experience is required
- Certifications required: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NIHSS, PALS
- Proficient with IV starts, IV therapy and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with care of ventilated patients and ABG interpretation
- Comfortable managing IV vasopressors and BiPAP/CPAP therapy
- Willingness to float between units and cover rotating weekend shifts
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- EPIC charting and documentation
- IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and phlebotomy skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Triage and rapid assessment skills in a high-acuity ED setting
- Management of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs
- Administration and titration of IV vasopressors
- BiPAP/CPAP management and respiratory collaboration
- Infection control, isolation precautions and PPE best practices
- Familiarity with STEMI and stroke protocols (facility certified)
