Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry readings to detect and respond to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Perform thorough assessments and develop timely nursing interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and accurately
• Respond promptly to emergencies and assist with advanced cardiac life support when needed
• Participate in unit-specific competency testing and skills validation

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain licensure where required; License/Certificate Verification required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience in Med/Surg and telemetry care preferred
• Successful completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency testing
• Up-to-date immunizations and health requirements including COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, fit test, physical/health statement, and Trinity 10-panel drug screen

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required, BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Safe medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Infection control practices and workplace safety
• Effective communication and teamwork on a fast-paced unit
• Ability to prioritize care and respond in emergency situations
