Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Monitor hemodynamics and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition
• Administer and manage complex interventions for critically ill patients in the ICU
• Communicate clinical changes and abnormal results promptly to physicians and the care team
• Lead and guide patient/family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Supervise and coordinate activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
• Document care accurately and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Participate in unit competency testing, skills checks and specialty exams to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state of California
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a staff RN in acute care/critical care
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications listed as required by the facility
• CCRN preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Current on required vaccines and pass pre-employment health screening (TB, drug screen, fit test, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and patient management skills
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of advanced cardiac rhythms
• Skill in critical care interventions and use of ICU equipment
• Ability to prioritize and act decisively in rapidly changing clinical situations
• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
• Patient and family teaching skills with compassion and clarity
