Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise clinical imaging staff, including Lead and Senior Technologists, to deliver high-quality patient care
- Oversee image quality control and enforce departmental policies and procedures
- Manage daily staffing and resource allocation to meet productivity and budgetary goals
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Coach, mentor, and support staff development while promoting employee satisfaction
- Serve as a clinical resource and liaison between patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues
- Evaluate departmental performance, report to leadership, and recommend operational improvements
- Conduct and complete timely staff evaluations and participate in progressive discipline when needed
- Maintain clinical competency by performing diagnostic procedures and providing education to patients, staff, and students
- Collaborate with service engineers and other departments to coordinate imaging services and equipment needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in an acute-care setting
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in an acute-care setting
- Associate Degree
- Current California Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) OR ARRT license
- Current CPR certification
- Desired: Certification in a specialized area (NMT, MRI, etc.) and prior managerial experience (3–5 years preferred)
Education
- Associate Degree
- Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) or ARRT licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards, Title 17 & 22, and ACR compliance and surveys
- Strong command of radiographic positioning, radiation safety, and quality assurance
- Proven leadership, staff development, and people-management skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities
- Experience with resource allocation, scheduling, and operational management
- Ability to teach and mentor staff, students, and families in clinical procedures
- Competency in evaluating and improving departmental workflows and patient experience
