Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee pharmacy operations across assigned sites to ensure safe, efficient service
- Assist the director of pharmacy in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Lead quality assurance and medication safety initiatives that improve patient outcomes
- Manage budgeting, inventory control, and productivity targets to meet operational goals
- Collaborate with information systems to optimize pharmacy information management and charge systems
- Represent pharmacy on interdisciplinary committees including P&T, Safety, and Information Systems
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate staff, driving professional development and strong team morale
- Serve as an accountable leader who can step in and perform pharmacy manager duties when needed
Qualifications
- PharmD degree from an accredited college or university
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration, or equivalent work experience
- Licensed pharmacist in Wisconsin (active license required)
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a pharmacy or health-system setting
- Proven experience with pharmacy information systems, inventory management, and QA processes
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated success working with multidisciplinary teams
Education
- PharmD from an accredited institution
- ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration preferred or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and medication safety
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and productivity monitoring
- Familiarity with pharmacy information management systems and charge systems
- Skills in inventory control, policies and procedures development, and quality assurance
- Ability to lead committees and collaborate across clinical, nursing, and IS teams
- Staff development, performance evaluation, and human resources management experience
