Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate care to medical-surgical and critically ill patients from admission through discharge
• Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment including ventilators, A-lines, invasive lines, and multiple IV pumps
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement evidence-based nursing interventions
• Serve as a clinical leader on the unit, guiding and directing RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support staff
• Assist with discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care
• Precept and mentor new staff members to help build a skilled, confident team
• Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, and leadership to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN licensure required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS, EPNC, and TNCC preferred
• Practice experience in an advanced medical-surgical setting plus recent critical care nursing experience required
• Demonstrated ability to operate advanced monitoring and life support equipment
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and ability to lead on the unit

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced nursing principles and procedures relevant to critical care
• Patient assessment and advanced patient monitoring
• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator support
• Management of central lines including arterial lines and invasive lines
• Use and troubleshooting of multiple IV pumps
• Discharge planning and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Clinical leadership and precepting skills
