Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for each procedure
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team during operative procedures with precise, timely support
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, recognizing and escalating changes in condition immediately
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of perioperative care and instrument counts
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards to protect patients and staff
• Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to demonstrate proficiency
• Verify and maintain required licenses, certifications, and health credentials

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Oregon) — License/Certificate Verification required
• BLS certification required
• Operating Room (OR) experience or perioperative training preferred
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Current fit test and up-to-date immunizations/health screenings as listed by the facility (drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, varicella, physical/health statement)
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and perioperative workflow knowledge
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and procedural setups
• Excellent patient assessment and intraoperative monitoring skills
• Clear, professional communication with surgeons, anesthesia, and the nursing team
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and perioperative checklists
• Attention to detail for counts, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
