Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT and general diagnostic radiographic exams with technical competence and compassion
- Operate CT and X-ray equipment safely and effectively, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images
- Prepare and administer contrast media and perform IV contrast injections per protocol
- Maintain patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications to support smooth patient flow
- Follow quality assurance and radiation protection standards to keep patients and staff safe
- Enforce departmental policies and uphold Enloe Medical Center’s core values and ARRT ethics
- Communicate effectively with patients and the care team to support excellent patient experiences
Qualifications
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the California Department of Health Services (CRT) — required
- Approved CPR certification — required
- ARRT certification and Fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within 6 months of hire (as required)
- Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification — desired
- One year of CT experience and two years of diagnostic x-ray experience preferred
- Advanced CT certification and current ARRT registration are a plus
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient-care skills
Education
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) — California Department of Health Services
- Approved CPR certification
- ARRT certification preferred; advanced CT certification desired
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and radiation physics
- Proficient in patient care, positioning, and radiographic exposure principles
- Experience with quality assurance processes and radiation protection practices
- Skillful in IV contrast administration and safe handling of contrast media
- Ability to operate CT and diagnostic X-ray equipment and troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a busy trauma center
