Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for Nuclear Medicine studies and ensure they are safe and informed.
• Perform high-quality diagnostic nuclear medicine scans following established protocols.
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as gamma cameras, dose calibrators, and survey meters.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to infection control and PPE requirements.
• Communicate findings and coordinate effectively with radiologists and physicians.
• Participate in teaching and instructional activities to support colleagues and learners.

Qualifications

• Current Hawaii Nuclear Medicine Technologist license (required)
• Current BLS/HCP certification (required)
• One (1) year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiopharmaceutical administration, nuclear medicine physics, and safety protocols
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills; ability to work independently in a single-tech site

• Patient preparation for nuclear medicine studies
• Diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging and protocols
• Operation of dose calibrator, gamma camera, survey meters, well counter, and thyroid uptake probe
• Radiopharmaceutical administration and radiation safety practices
• Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
• Effective communication with radiologists, physicians, and patients
• Comfort working in a rural community hospital setting
