Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the surgical services team to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care
- Oversee circulating RN activities and ensure surgical workflows run smoothly and efficiently
- Coach, delegate, and mentor staff to build a resilient, high-performing team
- Coordinate patient care across pre-op, intra-op and post-anesthesia settings for seamless transitions
- Develop and implement short- and long-term solutions to clinical and operational challenges
- Ensure compliance with licensure, credentialing and hospital policies
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, maintaining composure and clear direction
- Collaborate with physicians and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction
Qualifications
- Current California RN license (required)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
- Bachelor degree or equivalent (required)
- Minimum of 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery (required)
- Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and AHA PALS certifications (required)
- One year post-anesthesia care experience (preferred)
- CNOR certification (preferred)
- Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience (preferred)
- Strong written and oral English communication skills (required)
Education
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Perioperative nursing and surgical services management
- Patient assessment, safety and infection-control practices in the OR
- Delegation, staff supervision and performance coaching
- Problem solving, triage and emergency response in surgical settings
- Ability to evaluate workflows and implement process improvements
- Physical stamina for clinical duties (sitting/standing/walking and occasional lifting)
- Comfort working with multidisciplinary teams including physicians and ancillary staff
