Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized, compassionate nursing care for neonates in the NICU, including monitoring and assessment
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and urgent interventions in accordance with NRP protocols
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately and safely
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to develop and follow care plans
• Educate and support families, delivering clear updates and guidance during stressful times
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required competency exams and skills checklists
• Participate in infection control practices and unit safety initiatives to protect vulnerable patients

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - active licensure with verification via Nursys
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• DCI/BVP credentialing as listed
• Recent acute, in-hospital NICU or ICU experience preferred
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and complete required checklist testing
• Ability to meet facility health requirements including immunizations, TB testing and drug screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in neonatal assessment and critical care principles
• Skilled in neonatal resuscitation and emergency response
• Familiarity with ventilator and respiratory support for neonates
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings
• Clear communication with families and the care team
• Comfort with electronic charting systems and documentation best practices
