Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct pharmacy operations across assigned sites, ensuring high-quality, compliant services
- Implement and refine policies, procedures, and QA programs to elevate patient safety
- Lead budgeting, planning, and operational initiatives to meet productivity and outcome targets
- Coach, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff through hiring, evaluations, and performance management
- Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to foster excellent working relationships
- Partner with information systems to optimize pharmacy information management, charge systems, and inventory control
- Represent pharmacy on committees (Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Safety, Information Systems, Patient Medication Safety, Nursing/Pharmacy)
- Step in and perform pharmacy manager duties as needed to ensure continuous, effective operations
Qualifications
- PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) from an accredited college or university
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent experience
- Active Pharmacy License in Illinois (required)
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience in pharmacy operations
- Proven experience in policy development, quality assurance, budgeting, and inventory control
- Strong leadership, communication, and committee participation experience
Education
- PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) from an accredited institution
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
- Experience with pharmacy information management systems and patient charge systems
- Skill in quality assurance, policy/procedure development, and performance improvement
- Budgeting and financial oversight acumen for pharmacy operations
- Inventory control best practices and supply chain oversight
- Human resources skills: hiring, development, performance management, and conflict resolution
- Collaborative leadership style and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams
