Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, applying therapeutic procedures to restore strength and mobility
- Implement therapeutic modalities and assistive devices to reduce pain and improve function
- Deliver individualized rehabilitation interventions focused on range of motion, muscle strength, coordination, and body alignment
- Document patient progress clearly and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Follow the State Practice Act and facility policies to maintain safe, compliant care
- Collaborate with the care team to create meaningful, measurable patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)
- Ability to practice in accordance with the California State Practice Act
Education
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills with focus on rehabilitation and functional mobility
- Experience with therapeutic modalities and therapeutic procedures
- Comfortable using assistive devices and training patients in safe use
- Skilled in range of motion and strength training techniques
- Knowledge of body alignment, coordination exercises, and mobility interventions
- Able to follow clinical supervision and collaborate effectively with Physical Therapists
