Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide clear direction and guidance to nursing staff on policies, procedures, and clinical decisions
- Manage patient flow across the hospital to ensure timely, safe care
- Organize workflow, assign staff, and optimize resource utilization
- Coach and give constructive feedback to staff to support performance and professional growth
- Collaborate with charge nurses, clinical leaders, and the Chief Nursing Officer on administrative decisions
- Respond to and resolve patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Monitor employee productivity and ensure duties and delegated tasks are understood and completed
- Lead problem solving during high-acuity or high-volume situations to maintain quality patient care
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Montana (required)
- Degree from a Nursing Program (see Education section for details)
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an RN in a hospital setting, with recent ICU experience preferred
- Current CPR required
- ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and strong communication skills
Education
- Degree from an accredited Nursing Program (RN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced nursing principles and procedures
- Patient flow management and resource nurse responsibilities
- Care across the lifespan, from infants to geriatric patients
- Experience with ventilator support, A-lines, invasive lines, and chest tubes
- Cardiac monitoring and postoperative patient care
- Comfort using multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact at all levels
- Teamwork, conflict resolution, and the ability to lead projects
