Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional PICC line care, dressing changes, and maintenance with attention to infection prevention
• Perform thorough patient assessments and deliver safe medication administration
• Document clinical observations, interventions and care plans accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with medical and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Follow strict security protocols while working inside a correctional facility to ensure safety for patients and staff
• Respond calmly and effectively to clinical emergencies and escalate when necessary
• Educate patients on PICC care and aftercare instructions in a clear, compassionate way

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Pennsylvania (required for PA-only facility assignments)
• Proven PICC experience and competency in PICC-related procedures
• Correctional facility experience is highly desirable — comfortable working in secure settings
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and specialty certifications are a plus
• Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in PICC line care, insertion aftercare, and troubleshooting
• Infection control best practices and sterile technique
• Skilled clinical assessment and medication administration
• Accurate clinical documentation and electronic health record navigation
• Familiarity with security and safety procedures in correctional healthcare environments
• Team collaboration and clear, respectful patient communication
