Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional status and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and gait training
• Monitor and document patient progress in the medical record with clear, timely notes
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and rehab team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety, and recovery goals
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions to the next level of care
• Adhere to safety protocols and facility policies while promoting patient-centered outcomes

Qualifications

• Current or compact PT license in the state of practice, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree (see Education section)
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Strong clinical assessment and manual therapy skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Travel/contract experience preferred but not required

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
• Master’s or Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy accepted where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic exercise prescription, and mobility training
• Experience with gait training, balance retraining, and functional transfers
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Strong clinical reasoning and goal-setting abilities
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
