Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and establish individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in the medical record accurately and timely
• Collaborate closely with nurses, PTs, SLPs and the care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies, home programs, and safe mobility techniques
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning to support smooth transitions
• Recommend and train patients on adaptive equipment and splints as appropriate
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapy license or ability to obtain prior to start
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, or post-acute settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and time-management skills
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or related field preferred; entry-level OT degree from an accredited program accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessment and occupational therapy treatment planning
• Proficient with therapeutic techniques for ADLs, mobility, and adaptive equipment
• Comfortable with electronic medical record documentation and professional charting
• Ability to train and educate patients, families, and staff in practical techniques
• Knowledge of regulatory and facility standards for rehabilitation care
• Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
