Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to patients/residents in accordance with facility policies
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Assess patient status, document findings, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Assist with care planning and follow-through to support positive patient outcomes
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers with clear, patient-focused communication
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic and paper documentation
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment

Qualifications

• Active LPN license or practical nursing diploma (must be licensed or eligible for Maine licensure)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable administering medications and performing routine nursing procedures
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program or equivalent practical nursing education

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Basic wound care and assessment
• Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment
• Professional, compassionate communication with patients, families, and coworkers
