Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Perform timely and accurate vital sign checks and document findings
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and family members about changes in condition
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in resident charts and care plans
• Follow infection control protocols and facility safety policies
• Support mealtime assistance and basic personal hygiene needs with dignity
• Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) credential in NH (VT eligibility helpful as noted)
• Completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program
• Comfort working the night shift and the ability to work every other weekend
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to pass facility background checks and any required health screenings
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an LNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Competence in basic patient care and activities of daily living
• Accurate vital sign measurement and observation skills
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Teamwork, time management, and effective communication
