Roles & Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the patient care team to deliver individualized, high-quality care
• Develop and implement patient care plans in partnership with physicians, patients, and families
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using the nursing process for pediatric through geriatric patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
• Promote teamwork and collaborate with medical staff and hospital personnel
• Adhere to hospital policies including confidentiality, ADA, and advance directives
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team to support positive outcomes
• Function independently while prioritizing patient safety and clinical best practices

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the State of Maine, or authorization to practice pending licensure by endorsement
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current BCLS required
• ACLS and PALS required (within 6 months of hire)
• Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and computer skills
• Ability to function independently and be a reliable night-shift leader

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing expertise
• Patient assessment and age-appropriate care (pediatric through geriatric)
• Care planning and accurate patient documentation
• Familiarity with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Good communication, teamwork, and independent decision-making skills
• Comfort with clinical computer systems and digital charting
