Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate the patient care team to deliver individualized, high-quality care
- Develop and implement patient care plans in partnership with physicians, patients, and families
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using the nursing process for pediatric through geriatric patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
- Promote teamwork and collaborate with medical staff and hospital personnel
- Adhere to hospital policies including confidentiality, ADA, and advance directives
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team to support positive outcomes
- Function independently while prioritizing patient safety and clinical best practices
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the State of Maine, or authorization to practice pending licensure by endorsement
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BCLS required
- ACLS and PALS required (within 6 months of hire)
- Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and computer skills
- Ability to function independently and be a reliable night-shift leader
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Med/Surg nursing expertise
- Patient assessment and age-appropriate care (pediatric through geriatric)
- Care planning and accurate patient documentation
- Familiarity with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Good communication, teamwork, and independent decision-making skills
- Comfort with clinical computer systems and digital charting
