Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to nursing staff promptly
- Document care activities and resident observations accurately and timely
- Support a positive, home-like environment through respectful interaction and teamwork
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification or completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- State GNA certification or eligibility for certification in Maryland
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for caring for older adults
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Basic infection control and personal protective equipment use
- Familiarity with documenting care in electronic or paper records
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
- Good time management and the capacity to prioritize resident needs
