Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately while following facility policies
• Document patient care and clinical assessments thoroughly in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and optimize patient care
• Maintain assigned patient ratios (typically 1:5-6) and prioritize tasks to ensure patient safety
• Apply ACLS and BLS protocols during emergencies and participate in rapid response situations as needed
• Float between like units within scope to support staffing needs and continuity of care
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts and support a patient-centered culture at a major teaching hospital

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MS/Telemetry nursing experience
• Active RN license (pending licenses are not accepted for this assignment)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Demonstrated experience with Epic charting
• Ability to float between like units and adapt to changing patient care needs
• Willingness to work every other weekend as part of the schedule
• First-time travel clinicians accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Solid med-surg clinical judgment and prioritization
• Proficient in electronic charting, specifically Epic
• Effective verbal and written communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage patient loads at a 1:5-6 ratio while maintaining safety and quality
• Comfortable with ACLS/BLS emergency protocols and stroke assessments
• Flexible, team-oriented approach and willingness to float when needed
