Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and document vital signs accurately to help monitor residents’ health
- Support safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and lift/assist equipment
- Communicate changes in resident condition promptly and clearly to the nursing team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility protocols
- Build meaningful connections with residents and their families, delivering person-centered care with dignity
Qualifications
- Active LNA / Licensed Nursing Assistant certification (state-appropriate) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but caring attitude and coachability count too
- Ability to work the assigned 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM schedule, including weekends
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in providing ADL support and basic bedside care
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observations
- Knowledge of infection control practices and resident safety
- Good documentation and handoff communication skills
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work well with multidisciplinary teams
