Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) to promote resident dignity
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support while following care plans
• Measure and record vital signs and communicate changes to the care team
• Help create a comfortable, home-like environment through respectful, person-centered care
• Document care activities accurately and timely to support continuity of care
• Support mealtime assistance and hydration to ensure resident nutrition and well-being
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to advocate for resident needs

Qualifications

• GNA certification or relevant state nursing assistant credential preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain quickly
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and respect for older adults
• Comfortable with basic charting and following written care plans
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus but motivated trainees welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA / Nursing Assistant certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of safe patient handling and proper body mechanics
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Basic infection control practices and hand hygiene
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Time management and prioritization during busy shift periods
• Familiarity with ADLs, mobility assistance, and bedside care routines
