Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents including bathing, dressing and grooming
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility safely and respectfully
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents
- Accurately document care and communicate effectively with nurses, families and support staff
- Demonstrate empathy and maintain resident dignity at all times
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
- Active listing on the New Mexico CNA registry or ability to transfer registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
- Dependable, compassionate attitude and strong patient-centered focus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Basic charting and documentation skills; familiarity with electronic health records a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
