Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, evidence-based OTA interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to improve patients' cognitive and physical function
• Perform ADL retraining and therapeutic activities that help patients regain independence
• Deliver therapeutic exercises and modalities safely and effectively
• Use supportive and assistive devices and teach patients and caregivers proper use
• Accurately record treatment minutes and document all regulatory and clinical information in the electronic medical record
• Assess patient progress, report outcomes, and collaborate with the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings to advocate for patient needs
• Support discharge planning by providing input to the supervising OT and coordinating necessary DME or supplies
• Supervise and mentor students under OT guidance, contributing to the next generation of clinicians

Qualifications

• Active OTA license (must meet Missouri state licensure/registration requirements; Compact allowed)
• Minimum 1 year OTA experience required; LTC/SNF experience required
• New grads considered if they have Level II fieldwork (not just Level I observation)
• Familiarity with NBCOT/AOTA practice standards and state practice acts
• Comfortable with electronic documentation and accurately recording treatment minutes
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervising OT, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team
• Able to participate in required facility trainings and meetings and support DME procurement when needed
