Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Take and document vital signs and observe changes in patient condition promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility with proper body mechanics and equipment
- Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate resident care
- Maintain accurate and timely charting in the facility record system
- Follow infection prevention protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe
- Contribute to a positive, resident-centered environment by building rapport and trust
Qualifications
- Active LNA or T-LNA license (NH or VT) required
- Completion of a state-approved nurse aide training program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
- Comfort working night shifts and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong observation, communication and interpersonal skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved Nurse Aide/LNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in basic nursing tasks: vital signs, ADLs, transfers and range-of-motion
- Familiarity with electronic charting and documentation best practices
- Knowledge of infection control standards and patient safety practices
- Good time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Strong teamwork and clear communication with residents and staff
- Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or emotional situations
