Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day, 5x8-hour, block schedules). Rotating on-call coverage: On-call shift 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM (pager turned off at 9:00 PM); on-call rotation includes weekdays and weekends (typically 3-4 call shifts/month, ~1 weekend every 6 weeks).
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform accurate EEG recordings across age groups—neonates through geriatrics—for inpatient and outpatient settings
- Place and maintain electrodes using accepted neurodiagnostic techniques to ensure high-quality data
- Conduct ambulatory EEGs, sleep-deprived studies, and long-term/video monitoring with attention to patient comfort and safety
- Operate portable EEG equipment in ICU, NICU, and PICU environments and adapt quickly to changing clinical conditions
- Assist with ECI (brain death) evaluations and follow established protocols during critical cases
- Respond to on-call requests promptly and professionally, collaborating with neurologists when cases require escalation
- Document findings and chart in Epic (preferred) with clear, timely entries supporting care continuity
- Support a culture of patient-centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork across inpatient and outpatient settings
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of EEG technologist experience (per job posting)
- Required skills: ECI Brain Death, Electrode Placement, Portable Recording (ICU/NICU/PICU), Sleep Deprived EEG, Sleep EEG
- Preferred experience with Ambulatory EEG and Long Term Monitoring/Video Monitoring
- Comfort working with all age groups including neonates, pediatrics and adults in acute care settings
- BLS certification preferred
- Ability to float across units, work block schedules, and participate in rotating on-call coverage
- Familiarity with Epic charting preferred; teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience are a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong hands-on EEG recording and electrode application skills
- Experience with ambulatory and long-term/video monitoring workflows
- Comfortable operating portable EEG systems in critical care settings (ICU, NICU, PICU)
- Ability to perform sleep EEG protocols and sleep-deprived studies
- Knowledge of brain death (ECI) testing procedures and documentation
- Familiarity with transcranial Doppler and intraoperative monitoring is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for neurologist collaboration and clear Epic charting
- Adaptability to float between units and manage on-call responsibilities
