Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography with professionalism and attention to detail
- Operate and optimize Hologic 3D and Hologic Affirm BX equipment for high-quality imaging
- Assist with stereotactic biopsy, needle localizations and fine needle aspiration procedures
- Document imaging and clinical notes accurately in Epic to support excellent patient care
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Provide compassionate patient education and positioning guidance to reduce anxiety and improve imaging outcomes
- Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams for timely interpretation and follow-up
- Maintain equipment, perform quality control checks, and escalate technical issues appropriately
Qualifications
- Active CA state license for Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT certified; ARRT Advanced (mammography) required/preferred
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant mammography/imaging experience
- Proficiency with Hologic 3D and Hologic Affirm BX considered a strong plus
- Experience charting in Epic or similar electronic health record systems
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in 3-D mammography, screening and diagnostic mammograms
- Skilled in stereotactic biopsy procedures, needle localizations and fine needle aspiration
- Familiarity with Hologic 3D and Hologic Affirm BX systems and imaging QA
- Strong patient positioning, safety and infection control practices
- Comfortable documenting accurately in Epic and communicating results to care teams
- Ability to work with adult and geriatric patient populations with empathy and efficiency
