Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide rapid assessment and triage for emergency presentations, prioritizing patients in critical condition
- Stabilize and treat trauma and acute medical emergencies, coordinating transfers for specialty care when needed
- Perform life-saving interventions and use ACLS/PALS protocols during cardiac and pediatric emergencies
- Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe inpatient admission or timely transfer
- Operate within decontamination and hazardous response procedures to support community emergency preparedness
- Document patient care clearly and promptly, ensuring continuity and quality of care in a busy ED setting
- Support a respectful, patient-centered environment that includes family communication and privacy considerations
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact RN license in-hand at upload (facility will not pend license)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months (required)
- Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (must be uploaded with profile)
- TNCC highly preferred
- Own reliable vehicle and provide permanent address at profile upload (facility will not consider travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility)
- Able to commit to facility scheduling rules — all RTO and scheduling requests must be included at submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in trauma care, triage, and patient stabilization
- Comfort working in a rural/small facility environment with broad-scope responsibilities
- Skilled at rapid assessment, emergency interventions, and coordinating transfers
- Familiarity with decontamination procedures and handling hazardous contamination responses
- Strong communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary emergency teams
- Adaptability to a fast-paced ED with priority-based care delivery
