Shift Type: 4x12-hour day shifts, 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM; typical schedule is four 12-hour day shifts per week with every-other-weekend required — Day shift

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit
- Continuously monitor telemetry and respond promptly to rhythm changes and alarms
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to protocols
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient discharge and care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and follow-up care
- Assist in emergency response and escalation when patients deteriorate
- Float within scope to support like units as needed to meet facility staffing demands
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (State of North Carolina or eligible for licensure) — pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Comfortable working with typical unit patient ratios (~1:5-6)
- Weekend availability (every other weekend) and willingness to float between like units
- First-time travel nurses welcome
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred when available
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Strong medical-surgical nursing skills and safe medication administration
- Experience charting in Epic (electronic health record required)
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and clinical prioritization
- Clear communication skills for collaborating with the care team and educating patients
- Ability to adapt to changing unit needs and float between similar units
