Shift Type: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday OR Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday — 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Day shift), 4x10 schedule (40 hours/week). Approximately 2 weekend days per month required if not part of your regular schedule.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate adult inpatient rehab patients using standardized tools such as the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) to establish baseline function and goals
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including splinting and adaptive equipment recommendations, to maximize patient independence
- Deliver hands-on skilled therapy (e.g., biofeedback, electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound) within scope of practice
- Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education to support safe discharge and continued recovery
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (PT, SLP, nursing, physicians, case management) to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Document assessments, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately in Epic
- Perform cognitive and perceptual assessments and tailor interventions for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputee, and orthopedic populations
- Participate in reassessments, plan adjustments, and functional capacity evaluations to track patient progress
Qualifications
- Current Alaska occupational therapy license preferred (pending licenses accepted, strong preference for AK license in hand)
- NBCOT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; Acute Rehab facility experience required per UD; IRF experience preferred
- Comfortable with Epic charting and standard inpatient documentation (evaluation, plan of care, reassessments, discharge)
- Willingness to work the posted 4x10 day schedule and approximately 2 weekend days per month
- Must meet travel assignment eligibility: permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)

- Inpatient and adult rehabilitation best practices
- Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scoring and interpretation
- Adaptive equipment assessment and recommendations
- Splinting techniques including dynamic, functional and static splints
- Cognitive and perceptual assessment strategies
- Lifting and transfer training and safety/injury prevention
- Therapeutic modalities: biofeedback, electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound
- Lymphedema management and myofascial release basics
- Prosthetics/orthotics familiarity and amputee care
- Stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedics and hand injury rehabilitation
- Strong patient/family education and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Accurate assessment, documentation, and plan-of-care development in Epic
