Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver hands-on therapy focused on improving activities of daily living, mobility, and independence
- Collaborate closely with nurses, PTs, SLPs, physicians and other team members to coordinate patient care
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies to support long-term outcomes
- Participate in care planning and discharge coordination to ensure smooth transitions
- Maintain clinical competencies and contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in Maryland, or eligible to obtain state licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience in inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute rehabilitation settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; patient-centered approach
Education
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OT/OTD) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in OT assessment and treatment planning for ADLs and functional mobility
- Experience with adaptive equipment, splinting, and therapeutic activities
- Proficient documentation practices and comfort with electronic medical records
- Ability to educate patients and caregivers effectively
- Strong time management and clinical prioritization skills
