Shift Type: Varied rotating shifts (Full-Time). Schedule varies by department and may include day, evening, night and weekend coverage. Full-time expectation: 80 hours per two-week pay period.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing that directly supports physician diagnosis and patient care
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes and the Pevco pneumatic system
- Accurately record and report test results using LIS and HIS to ensure timely clinical decision-making
- Ensure laboratory quality and compliance with CLIA-88, CAP and Joint Commission standards
- Troubleshoot instrument issues and coordinate resolution with technical support when needed
- Maintain laboratory safety precautions and a clean, organized workspace
- Communicate effectively with clinical teams, patients and interdepartmental partners while maintaining confidentiality
- Participate in competency assessments, training and continuous improvement activities to enhance lab performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science (required)
- Meets federal CLIA-88 Clinical Laboratory Personnel Requirements and Oregon DHS, CAP and Joint Commission standards
- Hands-on experience with LIS and HIS systems and specialized automated laboratory equipment
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and apply critical thinking in a fast-paced environment
- Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed
- Legible handwriting and clear verbal/written communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain reliable attendance
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science (academic degree or transcript required upon hire)
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical laboratory testing and standard medical laboratory techniques
- Laboratory safety precautions and infection control practices
- Proficiency with LIS and HIS computer systems
- Operation of automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes and pneumatic specimen systems
- Comfortable using personal computers, common software and standard office equipment
- Strong confidentiality, independent decision-making and critical thinking
- Excellent organization, multi-tasking ability and manual dexterity
