Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents during night shifts
- Assess and monitor patient condition, documenting changes and communicating with the care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and according to facility policy
- Collaborate with nursing staff and leadership to implement individualized care plans
- Respond to overnight emergencies with calm, decisive action and proper documentation
- Support resident comfort and safety during overnight hours, including wound care and mobility assistance
- Participate in shift handoffs and maintain clear, accurate clinical records
Qualifications
- Active RN license (or LPN license if applying as an LPN) in the state of New Mexico or appropriate compact state credentials as applicable
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS or other specialty certifications are a plus
- Recent clinical experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar acute-care settings preferred
- Ability to work 12+ hour night shifts and manage multiple patients with calm efficiency
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program for LPNs or an accredited Associate/Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for RNs
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and monitoring skills, including recognizing changes in condition
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- IV therapy and wound care experience desirable
- Strong clinical judgment, time management, and prioritization skills
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and excellent patient/family communication
